This work deals with notions of normative beauty and the normalization of the criteria for seduction established in popular culture. The portraits’ models come from Facebook profile pictures, selected for their composition. This series tells a story of the search for ideal and perfection, which, irreparably, ends in failure. By a certain way, one can say that the medium gives back individuality and originality to the models who, thanks to their re-found imperfections, become again more human instead of being simple replicas. To summarize my way of thinking, I would say that this work calls into question our perception of the canon of feminine beauty by disturbing the stereotypical images which are ones which, originally, perpetuate this quest for perfection and normalization.
